GBInSAR LiSAmobile radars are commonly used to monitor deformations on landslide, using acceleration to predict the risk of failure. During the spring of 2015, 2016, and 2018, the potential of this system was tested on glide snow-avalanches occurring at Stavbrekkfonna in western Norway. These initial experiments aimed to verify if displacement on snow surfaces could be measured and, if so, to improve the understanding of glide avalanche dynamics to predict the time of failure. Preliminary results showed that the GBInSAR Lisamobile system accurately measures deformations on snow surfaces, showing both displacement and changes in velocity over time. The GBInSAR LiSAmobile system has thus been operationally used to monitor the slope in the 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 seasons.
