The GBInSAR LiSAmobile system aids spatial analysis and interpretation of displacements affecting archaeological monuments. From April 18, 2009, to March 9, 2010, a GBInSAR LiSAmobile system was installed at the Roman Forum to measure potential movements and deformations of the Domus Tiberiana, located on the northern slope of the Palatine Hill in Rome’s central archaeological area.

The system monitored monument movements and provided updated information on the structure’s condition in relation to its history of instability mechanisms. The pinpoint and timely detection of displacement anomalies and sudden changes in displacement trends demonstrated the suitability of the GBInSAR LiSAmobile system for early warning procedures, including assessing masonry effects caused by human activities.
